I am glad that Ukraine is cleansing itself from the decades of Russification. Revitalising the Ukrainian language is definitely one way to do that. Our language (Lithuanian) and catholicism were our tools to differentiate ourselves from USSR and Russian hegemony. As Ukraine is predominately orthodox, I believe a lot will rest on language and history, although the latter one gets twisted much too often to the needs and desires of the invading force.
